II. 2019

Junior Advisor, Ministry of Justice.

Angelica spent four weeks at the Ministry of Justice as Junior Advisor to the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, under the administration of Governor Fayemi. About

About Angelica.

Raised in London and an alumna of Oxford and LSE. Currently completing a joint LPC and MSc in Law and Business at law school. She has given her time to community and civic work since she was 13.

I. Background

Raised in London.

Angelica was raised in London, where she attended Barking Abbey School. She was named Student of the Year in 2013, and won the school's Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in 2016.

She began giving her time to the community at 13, through school charity drives, volunteering rotas and early advocacy work. By 15, that work had earned her a seat at the table: she became Deputy Chair of the Barking and Dagenham Youth Forum and an honorary member of the Children's Services Select Committee, working alongside councillors and MPs. That same year, she wrote to her then MP, the Rt Hon Dame Margaret Hodge, urging her to introduce a Young Mayor scheme to the borough. Within six months the council adopted the role, and a year later Angelica was elected the borough's first ever Young Mayor.

At 17, she was invited with 50 MPs and councillors to dine with HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. As Young Mayor, she ran a fundraising appeal for the mental health charity YoungMinds that drew over 2,000 attendees and raised £800 in four hours. She served at the Women's Empowerment Mosque, the Box for Peace event, and represented young people across the borough.

She has volunteered for the Teenage Cancer Trust, Richard House Children's Hospice, St John's Ambulance and the Dagenham Food Bank. In 2015, she was named Young Volunteer of the Year by the borough for committing 15 hours a week to charitable work.

II. Education

Oxford. LSE. The University of Law.

Angelica studied at Oxford and LSE on full scholarships, and is currently completing the LPC and an MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law. She received a training contract offer from a Magic Circle firm during her studies.

While at Oxford, she served as Junior Officer for Access and Outreach, widening participation for under-represented students through the society's Annual Access Conference, which drew national media coverage thanks to the appearance of Stormzy. At LSE, she mentored younger students through Pathways to Law.

III. Cultural & Community Work

Miss Ipoti. Sophire Foundation. Angeliculture.

In 2016, Angelica co-founded the Annual Miss Ipoti Beauty Pageant with her mother. The pageant doubles as a fundraising initiative that supports women in the community to start businesses, in pursuit of the financial independence that can end abusive situations. Since 2016, the initiative has supported over 5,000 women. The 2025 edition was the most successful on record and received a royal commendation.

That same year, she founded the Sophire Foundation, now My PowerPlug, a youth empowerment initiative providing mentorship and resources to students from underserved backgrounds. The Foundation has supported hundreds of students through to offers at Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial and other Russell Group universities.

Her social media platform Angeliculture won Best Use of Social Media at the 2019 Legal Cheek Awards, nominated alongside the UK Supreme Court and the top City law firms. Across her platforms, her content has reached over 5 million views.

IV. Civic Service

Trustee. Director. Candidate.

Angelica is a Trustee and Director of the British Youth Council, with responsibility for finance, HR and strategy. She sits on the PRIME Foundation Alumni Advisory Board, advising on access and social mobility in the legal profession.

She has contested three elections as a Conservative candidate, in May 2022, November 2024 and February 2025. She served as Vice-Chair of the Conservative Friends Association, Youth Arm, between 2023 and 2025.

She is an alumna of the Patchwork Foundation Masterclass Programme, where she trained with senior diplomats and politicians including Yael Lempert, then Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, and Mishal Husain of the BBC.

Angelica has been flown to international conferences as a delegate and speaker. She was selected for the BusinessToday x Princeton University International Conference in New York — one of the most competitive student leadership conferences in the world, drawing delegates from across the globe.
